2024 has been a sad and stressful year for me with lots of critical family commitments to attend to. For the museum show, I wanted to do something about Pure Ecstatic Joy.

Have you ever watched the mating dances of herons? Google it. They are Amazing.

Smitten: Herons’ Dance of Love is my effort to replicate the Dance. The birds are made with found beach wood and eucalyptus bark.

This was so fun to work on! It was Pure Joy seeing the birds evolve, trying to replicate the lyrical magnetism and movement of the Dance.
